Philippe Couture has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and became a Chartered Accountant in 1991. His professional concentration has been in determining, verifying and analyzing factual matters by the examination of accounting, operating and financial records; and the interpretation and communication of these financial facts along with calculations and recommendation, all in connection with claims under insurance coverage and in litigation matters.

With experience in forensic accounting since 1995, Philippe has provided expert reports for litigation matters in Canada, the U.S. and the European markets (France/Belgium/Middle East). He has spent a considerable amount of time reviewing claims related to quantification of businesses and property losses for the UNCC (United Nation Compensation Commission) in Geneva from 1999 to 2001 and related to a fertilizer plant explosion in Toulouse, France from 2001 to 2003.

He has been involved in over 500 investigations for various types of assignments including business interruption, extra expenses, inventory, soft costs, entertainment and physical damage claims. Philippe has also performed analyses of past and future income loss cases.

Philippe has broad industry experience including agriculture, automotive, chemical, communication, computer, construction, fast food, fertilizer, food processing, furniture, garment, hotels, lumber, medical, mining, pharmaceutical, plastics, pulp and paper, restaurant, rental and resort properties, and hydro electric.

Philippe has provided expert testimony on the quantification of business losses before the Superior Court of Quebec. He has conducted or participated in numerous seminars and workshops for insurance industry professionals.
