Jay Strano obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton's McMaster University and is also a Certified Management Accountant.

With over ten years experience in financial advisory services practice, his professional concentration has been in determining, verifying and analyzing factual matters by the examination of accounting, operating and financial records; and the interpretation and communication of these financial facts along with calculations and recommendations, primarily in connection with economic damage quantification in insurance and litigation matters.

Jay has been engaged in a wide variety of assignments including economic damage quantification, business interruptions/loss of earnings, physical damage, extra expense, stock and contents losses, and catastrophic loss services.

These have encompassed a range of industries and involve companies across Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

He has substantial experience working on catastrophe claims and has handled files relating to Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina as well as claims resulting from the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City.

In addition, he has conducted numerous workshops and seminars for insurance professionals on various aspects of insurance and accounting including business interruption and extra expense.
