Work Experience

Markus graduated from university in Munich in July 1992 and began his career with Matson, Driscoll & Damico in 1993. He qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in England in 1996 and became partner in the London office in 2002.

Alongside Flemming and Edward, he is responsible for the practice development and client services for the UK, London market and Europe. Markus has international experience dealing with instructions in over 30 countries. His experience includes hundreds of assignments in exploration, mining, refining, chemical and petrochemical, manufacturing, retailing, construction, wholesaling and service industries. Markus worked in Europe, the Middle and Far East, Africa and South and North America. He has also been instructed on evaluations of physical and consequential damages, fidelity, financial condition and fraud losses.

Markus has provided expert witness services on a number of occasions within the UK and Europe. His professional background also includes financial auditing, banking, publishing and the automotive industry. His language skills have frequently been utilised on claim audits throughout Europe and across South America.

In addition to client services, Markus has presented numerous seminars and workshops and held speaking engagements within the UK, Germany, Spain, Russia, Switzerland and Norway for the onshore and offshore energy insurance sector, property and liability insurance carriers, loss adjusters and the legal profession. He has given speeches to Pan European insurance associations on many business interruption related topics. As a native German, he also speaks Spanish after having lived and worked in Mexico.
