MD&D OPENS OFFICE IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Matson, Driscoll & Damico opened its 32^nd office in Sydney, Australia on October 15.

Richard J. Yochem, CPA, CFFA, will manage the office, which he will open in conjunction with Chris Ehlers, also a CPA. Together, they will focus on providing business loss accounting and litigation services, including subrogation, mediation and arbitration, to insurance companies and attorneys conducting business in Australia, New Zealand and other countries in the Pacific Rim.

Rick is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Forensic Financial Analyst. He has provided his expertise on claims related to business interruption, business income, lost profits, stock and contents, construction disputes, product liability and recall, fraud, personal injury and wrongful death cases, builders' risk and soft costs.

He brings with him a wealth of catastrophe experience, having worked on files related to the September 11 terrorist attack, Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jean, Wilma, Katrina and Rita in the United States and other natural disasters in the Caribbean. Rick has also overseen other large and complex losses valued at more than $500 million. He has been with MD&D since 1989.

Rick’s areas of industry expertise include manufacturing, retail, hospitality, power generation, technology, semi-conductor, pulp and paper and extrusion.

Chris, also a Certified Public Accountant, has a significant background in the petrochemical, oil and gas, and power generation industries. Prior to the Sydney office opening, he worked in the firm’s office in London, England where he completed a secondment through a Lloyd’s of London syndicate.

Chris was most recently based in Houston, Texas, where he began his career with the firm. He has extensive expertise in claims related to lost profits, business interruption, catastrophe services, builders’ risk and soft costs, product contamination, employee dishonesty and trademark infringement.

MD&D’s office will reside at Level 56, MLC Centre, 19 29 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000.
